‘Big Mistakes’ Trailer Reveals Dan Levy’s New Netflix Series, Release Date
Mar 15, 2026
Eugene Levy has been a comedy legend for decades, and when news emerged that he had paired with his son for the sitcom Schitt’s Creek, audiences weren’t quite as familiar with Dan Levy’s work, understandably causing a feeling of apprehension. Lo and behold, the apple clearly didn’t fall far from the tree, as the sitcom would become a streaming and critical sensation. The series earned dozens of awards nominations in its six seasons, with its final season even scoring it nine Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In fact, it set a record at the Emmys, as it swept all seven of the major comedy categories (with two to spare). To say that the bar is high for how Dan Levy would follow up Schitt’s Creek would be a bit of an understatement, and today brings a trailer for his next endeavor. Not content to merely replicate what already worked for Levy and offering up Schitt’s Creek 2.0, the new series has much higher stakes, as a pair of siblings (Levy and Taylor Ortega) accidentally get pulled into the world of organized crime. Netflix has released a new trailer for Big Mistakes, which you can watch below.

While Schitt’s Creek focused on a number of comedic heavyweights, Big Mistakes also comes with an impressive pedigree, as it stars Laurie Metcalf, Abby Quinn, Boran Kuzum, Jack Innanen, Elizabeth Perkins. Sadly, it’s been a rough year for Schitt’s Creek fans, given the unexpected death of star Catherine O’Hara, so any good news regarding future Levy projects are glimmers of hope that fans will savor. In an age where beloved sitcoms get sequel series, spin-offs, and reunion specials, Schitt’s Creek felt like a title that delivered the perfect amount of everything that audiences wanted from it. Levy himself has previously addressed the idea of a continuation, though the problem with how good the original series was means that the bar would be even higher to ever attempt to replicate the magic he created with his father, O’Hara, and Annie Murphy. Levy shared with E! Online back in 2023:
“I love the fact that people want more … but it has to beat what we’ve done, and that’s a tough thing to do. So until the idea comes to me, who knows?
“But if it means people go back and watch the show from the beginning, not a bad thing.”
With the passing of O’Hara, though, any hope audiences had for a future project set in that world seems to have vanished. It’s difficult to overstate the importance of O’Hara and her many talents, as she recently earned a posthumous Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series at the Actor Awards.
