A Meditation in Documentary Form Featured, Reviews Film Threat

Aethereal. Luminescent. Illusory. Directors ETA and Shanhuan Manton’s Confluence: A Meditation in Documentary Form is a powerful and entrancing music documentary.
Mooring itself in the personal stories of Asian Americans and their multicultural identities, this short focuses on the introspective power of realizing who you are in the melting pot that is the United States. I found myself flowing along with the hypnotic essence of the electronica soundtrack that propels this meditation down the river of memory.
“…personal stories of Asian Americans and their multicultural identities…”
ETA and Manton have realized a wonderful digression on what it means to form and present an identity to the outside world. I could watch Confluence: A Meditation in Documentary Form for hours on end, just mesmerized by the fading and shifting imagery of the washed-out blue and purple-filtered light.
However briefly, Confluence: A Meditation in Documentary Form is a glorious acid-washed contemplation of indie Asian American rocker identity. Seek it out. It will blow your mind.
