‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Is Starting Production, ‘Star Wars’ Dave Filoni Reveals

The Force is strong with Ahsoka Season 2, as the second season of the live-action Star Wars series just got an exciting update at Star Wars Celebration. After making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, the former Jedi warrior launched her own solo show back in 2023. Now, showrunner Dave Filoni
has revealed that production on Ahsoka Season 2 is all set to begin.
During an appearance at Star Wars Celebration, Filoni took to the stage for the Lucasfilm Animation panel, revealing that production on Ahsoka Season 2 “will begin shortly, and Carrie Beck, Lucasfilm’s vice president of animation and live-action development, is currently in the UK preparing for filming to begin.”

Beloved Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano finally made her live-action debut during the second season of The Mandalorian, in which she was portrayed to perfection by Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Clerks III star Rosario Dawson
. Developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for Disney+, Ahsoka Season 1 debuted back in 2023, and finds the former Jedi Padawan investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy while making allies and enemies as she hunts down the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Alongside Rosario Dawson in the title role, the rest of the cast of Ahsoka Season 1 includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, as well as Ivanna Sakhno, the late Ray Stevenson, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former Jedi mentor.

Further details regarding Ahsoka Season 2 remain under wraps at present, but rumors have claimed that Natalie Portman is close to signing on to return as Padmé Amidala in the spin-off. Alongside this, further rumors have claimed that Ewan McGregor will also return as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in flashbacks.
