Skeleton Crew’ Young Cast Announced & First-Look At Jude Law As A Jedi

Apr 7, 2023

While a lot of the “Star Wars” television projects have been entry points to bring back established characters from canon to the small-screen or live-action, it’s also been exciting to see Lucasfilm developing a handful of possible original projects with “The Acolyte” and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” giving room for creatives to develop their own corners of the universe. “Skeleton Crew” had been pitched to Lucasfilm as a take on the beloved Richard Donner-directed 80s adventure film “The Goonies,” but set within the “Star Wars” franchise giving the impression we’ll be seeing the show focus on space pirates that recently got highlighted on this season of “The Mandalorian.”

Jude Law (“Captain Marvel“) is leading the project and will be surrounded by a group of young actors, said to be around 10 years old (not all of those characters are expected to be human). It’s worth noting that Lowery recently worked with Law on the upcoming film “Peter Pan & Wendy” as he plays Captain Hook and that remake will debut on Disney+ towards the end of the month.
Lucasfilm is giving fans at Star Wars Celebration in London a glimpse into their upcoming slate of live-action shows, which included “Skeleton Crew.” The big update being that the young cast includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith. Also, that Law is playing a Jedi and a first-look was shown of him in character.
The project is being headed up by the creative duo of “Spider-Man” director Jon Watts and screenwriter Christopher Ford (“Robot & Frank,” “Cop Car“). A team of directors lined up for the new “Star Wars” series is extremely impressive with names such as the aforementioned Watts, David Lowery (“The Green Knight“), Jake Schreier (“Robot & Frank,” “Thunderbolts“), and recent Oscar-winning duo The Daniels (“Everything Everywhere All At Once“). Additional filmmakers include Directors on the series include Bryce Dallas Howard (“The Mandalorian“) and Lee Isaac Chung (“Minari“),
Cinematographer Sean Porter is also lensing the show with credits like Watts’ FX black ops series “The Old Man,” which starred Jeff Bridges, and Jeremy Saulnier‘s Neo-Nazi thriller “Green Room” under his belt.
