
Starz Time Traveling Romance Series Returns Summer 2023

STARZ’s time-traveling drama “Outlander” might be for romance novels and their audiences what “Yellowstone” is to Middle America and heartland values. Both shows are incredibly popular but ask around. You might be hard-pressed to find someone that loves either, but people do watch them (it’s the Creed effect, they sold millions of albums, but no one admits to having ever purchased one of their records). Either way, “Outlander” is a big juggernaut for Starz and its fans are very passionate about the show.

As a holiday treat, STARZ released the first look teaser trailer for the upcoming seventh season of “Outlander,” and confirms that “droughtlander”—the term fans recognize for being without the show— will come to an end in Summer 2023 (aka season seven premieres this summer. The show stars Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan, and yes, it has a significant cult following.STARZ recently announced several returning characters and new additions to the “Outlander” family, including Charles Vandervaart as “William Ransom,” Izzy Meikle-Small as “Rachel Hunter” and Joey Phillips as “Denzell Hunter,” as well as returning fan-favorites Caitríona Balfe “Claire Fraser,” Sam Heughan “Jamie Fraser,” Sophie Skelton “Brianna MacKenzie,” Richard Rankin “Roger MacKenzie,” John Bell “Young Ian,” David Berry “Lord John Grey,” Caitlin O’Ryan “Lizzie Beardsley” and Paul Gorman “Josiah” and “Keziah Beardsley.”

The “Outlander” television series is inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books, which have sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide, with all nine of the books gracing the New York Times best-seller list.
