Terminator Zero Director Masashi Kudō Reveals the Changes He Needed to Make to the Franchise

Animator and filmmaker Masashi Kudō (Bleach) spoke to MovieWeb’s Archie Fenn about bringing the Terminator franchise into the realm of anime and turning it into a Netflix series. He discussed the changes that the show’s setting forced him to make to the usual aspects of the franchise, and whether James Cameron has seen the show and what he thinks. From writer and showrunner Mattson Tomlin (The Batman), Terminator Zero debuts Aug. 29, 2024, on Netflix.
In Japan, Malcom Lee has been developing another AI system that is intended to compete with SkyNet. As Judgement Day approaches in 1997, Lee finds himself and his three children pursued by an unknown robot assassin.
