Eric Kripke assures that the upcoming season of the Prime Video hit, The Boys, will not be the last.
Amazon Studios
The Boys is a huge hit on Prime Video. The series adaptation of the comics written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Darick Robertson has become one of the biggest successes in the superhero genre in recent years and has even managed to surpass the MCU shows in terms of views in 2022.
After another successful third season, the series was renewed for a fourth one, which began production almost immediately to return to the streaming platform as soon as possible. However, many fans thought it might be the show’s last season.
Thankfully, showrunner Eric Kripke made it clear that won’t be the case and that there’s still a lot more to see from The Boys:
Cause you’re asking! We’ve been shooting since late August. I’m here to prep & direct the Season 4 finale. No, not the series finale, there will be more! Most importantly, S4 premieres… at some point in the future in our discernible reality.
Beyond the fourth season, The Boys also has a second spin-off confirmed after the animated series Diabolical, titled Gen V. The story follows a group of young superheroes who attend the only university in the United States exclusively for teenage superheroes. As for the animated series, it still hasn’t been renewed for a second season, but it performed well with the franchise audience, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if new short stories come to life in an upcoming installment of fresh episodes for the spin-off.
