Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Uniting Cultures in Action and Sound
Marvel StudiosDisney
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picks up where the previous installment left off and follows the characters of Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje as they fight to protect Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. The film also introduces a new character, Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta Mejía, the ruler of a hidden undersea nation. The film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livinalli. This diverse cast of actors brings a fresh perspective and new energy to the film’s story.
The film’s soundtrack is equally impressive, featuring an original score from Ludwig Göransson and original songs by various international artists. The soundtrack includes Tems’ cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry,” featured in the teaser trailer, and Rihanna’s “Born Again.” The soundtrack also features songs from artists from different parts of the world, such as Burna Boy, Snow Tha Product, E-40, Stormzy, Fireboy DML, and several others. The incorporation of different styles and cultures of music into the soundtrack adds depth and richness to the film’s world-building.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is an excellent continuation of the first film and a cultural event that showcases the diversity and richness of different cultures and celebrates their contributions to the art of filmmaking. The film’s soundtrack is a perfect example of how different cultures and styles of music can come together to create something truly unique and special.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit Disney+ on Feb. 1, 2023.
