‘Invincible’ Season 3 First Reviews Get Perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Feb 6, 2025

Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) returns to our screens in a few short days, as Prime Video’s Invincible is back for a third season. Ahead of the show’s release, the first reviews for the new season have been revealed. While the hit animated series, based on the graphic novels by The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, likes to test the limits of Grayson’s superhero name, the reviews for Season 3 prove the show could, well and truly, be *cue title card!*
The first reviews for Invincible’s third season have been released online, and the show is making a perfect comeback, according to the critics. Invincible Season 3 has earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing. More reviews are expected to be released in the coming days, ahead of the show’s premiere on Feb. 6, but the new season already looks promising. Let’s start with MovieWeb’s own Managing Editor, Bobby Anhalt, who described Invincible as “still TV’s best animated superhero series” in his review, awarding Season 3 a score of 4/5. He continued:

“Season 2 remained strong and even challenged the idea of superhero fatigue, and in its third season, ‘Invincible’ continues to be a modern-day Saturday morning cartoon for adults who grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons like ‘Batman: The Animated Series.'”

That sentiment was shared by Reuben Baron of Looper, who said that fans of the first two seasons will adore Season 3, continuing, “and if you’re an adult who likes superheroes and animation, why wouldn’t you like Invincible?” Logan Moore of ComcBook also revealed that Season 3 trades some of the last season’s excessive action for slower, more character-focused storytelling. They wrote:

“While this season might not feature as many bombastic set pieces as in previous seasons, it trades those moments out for deeper character development.”

‘Invincible’ Season 3 Is “Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger”

Those were the words used in Invincible Season 3’s trailer by Mark Grayson, who begins his training to fight off the impending Viltrumite invasion in the new season. Season 3 will pick up right after the shocking finale, where Mark is saved from spending eternity in a parallel universe by an alternate version of the Guardians of the Globe, while Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) wrestles with his own mortality as a hero. Bradley Russell of Total Film echoed Mark’s iconic line in his review for Invincible’s third season, simply writing, “Invincible season 3 is bigger, better, faster, stronger.”

The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 premiere on Prime Video on Feb. 6, 2025. New episodes will be released weekly.
