Alan Ritchson’s Next Netflix Movie Confirmed As He Signs Major Deal With Streamer
Aug 4, 2026
Alan Ritchson is staying put at Netflix as his next film with the popular streamer is revealed. Most recently, the actor starred in War Machine, which debuted at the top of Netflix’s streaming chart when it was released in March 2026. The sci-fi flick is currently the 10th most popular Netflix movie ever, behind hits such as KPop Demon Hunters, Red Notice, Carry-On, Don’t Look Up and Bird Box.
Alan Ritchson in War Machine
Deadline reports that Ritchson has just signed a first-look movie deal with Netflix. The first project under this partnership is a heist thriller about the motorcycle racing championship MotoGP. After a motorcycle gang travels the world stealing valuable artifacts and antiquities, Ritchson’s character, a skilled MotoGP racer, is tasked by Interpol with finding and capturing the criminals. One major wrinkle may get in his way, though: his presumed-dead brother might be involved with the gang. Not only will Ritchson act in the project, but he’ll also serve as a producer, via his production company Dancing Skeleton, with Chris Morgan, Ainsley Morgan, Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum. The producing team has described the plot as being compared to Fast and the Furious but with motorcycles instead of cars.
Chris Morgan, who has written most of the scripts in the Fast & Furious franchise, is also on board as the screenwriter of the MotoGP film, which is currently untitled. Similar to how Formula One was involved in the production of Brad Pitt’s F1, MotoGP will act as a consultant on Ritchson’s project. The actor’s new deal with Netflix means that after the MotoGP film, he’ll continue to serve in the same acting and producing roles for additional feature-length projects at the streamer. He’s already attached to Netflix’s Maelstrom, which Carry-On’s Jaume Collet-Serra is directing, and is set to host a survival competition show on the same platform. Ritchson’s producing agreement with Netflix is just for movies, as he already has a first-look TV deal with Prime Video.
Alan Ritchson looking inquisitive in Reacher season 3
Over the years, Ritchson has starred in such movies as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Fast X and War Machine.
On the small screen, his credits include Smallville, Blue Mountain State, Blood Drive and Titans, but he’s best known for playing the titular character in Prime Video’s Reacher, based on Lee Child’s book series. Three seasons have already aired, with Reacher season 4 premiering on August 12. Ritchson’s reach in the entertainment industry hasn’t just been limited to acting roles. He’s also served as a producer on Playdate, Motor City, Reacher, The Turkey Bowl and Seberg, as well as the upcoming War Machine sequel and his survival competition show.
