Everyone’s favorite in over his head coach is back. Apple TV+ revealed today that “Ted Lasso” is officially returning for a fourth season. The last go-around, season three, unspooled two years ago in the Spring of 2023.

In a statement, the usually press shy Sudeikis noted, ““As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap, in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Despite the third season being unofficially teased as the show’s final go-around, there were always rumors that star and creator Jason Sudeikis would return to the Emmy-winning franchise. Last summer, co-stars Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift closed deals for a potential fourth season. Currently, Juno Temple is negotiating a return.
Reportedly, the new season will find Lasso coaching a woman’s team in Kansas. How the mostly British cast will work into that storyline remains to be seen. Filmming is expected to begin in July.
The stars of “Lasso” have been quite busy over the past few years. Goldstein co-created another Apple TV hit, “Shrinking,” and recently shot Kornél Mundruczó’s upcoming drama “At the Sea” opposite Amy Adams. Waddingham has voice roles in both “The Smurfs” and the live-action “Lilo & Stitch,” and a major role in “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.” Temple appears in Derek Cianfrance’s long awaited new film “Roofman” and Gore Verbinski’s upcoming “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.” Outside of voicing a role for “Hit Monkey” and appearing on the “Saturday Night Live” 50th Anniversary special, Suedkis has mostly appeared at Knicks and New York Liberty games.
“Ted Lasso” won 13 Primetime Emmy Awards over its initial run, including two back-to-back Comedy Series wins that helped put Apple TV+ on the map. Among other accolades, it also has a Peabody Award, multiple SAG Awards, WGA Awards, and a PGA Award win in its coffers.
“Ted Lasso” seasons one, two, and three are all available on Apple TV+
