Seth Rollins Stands Tall Over Roman Reigns and CM Punk, and More Highlights You Missed on ‘WWE Raw’
Apr 16, 2025
We are just four days away from WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, and the go-home WWE Raw ahead of the year’s biggest event delivered when it came to the main event. From Gunther cracking under pressure to Paul Heyman getting grilled by both his top guys, this was not your average go-home show. Seth Rollins stood tall over Roman Reigns and CM Punk to end the night, but not before chaos broke out across every division. If you missed Raw, here’s everything you need to catch up before the biggest show of the year.
“Screw Jey, and Screw Everyone Who Stands With Him”
Raw opened with a shot of Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and the Road to WrestleMania was very much on. Michael Cole welcomed us with a quick swing through backstage cameos—Jey Uso, Penta, The Judgment Day, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and a stressed Paul Heyman were all spotted before we went straight into it.
Gunther, clearly rattled after Jey Uso’s declaration that he was no longer afraid, invited Cole into the ring and unloaded. The World Heavyweight Champion, booed out of the building, spat venom at Jey and promised to put him down again at WrestleMania 41. “I took a bath in Jimmy Uso’s blood,” he said, vowing to walk out of Vegas still champ. But this wasn’t the calm, dominant Gunther we’re used to. As Cole put it, “Gunther is frustrated and has lost control.” Not a great sign for the champ, but we worry for Jey’s safety come this Saturday.
Bayley Gets One Over on Liv Morgan
In a preview of the upcoming Women’s Tag Title bout at WrestleMania, Bayley defeated Liv Morgan in a heated back-and-forth. It looked like Morgan had Bayley beat with a Backstabber into Oblivion, but Lyra Valkyria’s timely interference let Bayley roll her up for the win. Raquel Rodriguez was neutralised at ringside, and Bayley walked away with momentum heading into Vegas.
Rey Mysterio defeated Julius Creed in a slick ten-minute match, thanks in part to the LWO neutralizing the American Made crew. Afterward, El Grande Americano—who is still definitely not Chad Gable—attacked Rey and literally used his head, nailing a top-rope headbutt with a metal plate hidden in his mask. The LWO ran in, chaos ensued, but the mystery man walked out laughing. The WrestleMania match feels like it’s headed toward a mask vs. mask showdown.

AJ Styles Beats Karrion Kross, Then Gets Dropped by Logan Paul
AJ Styles defeated Karrion Kross clean with the Phenomenal Forearm, but the real action came post-match. Logan Paul appeared, dropping Styles with a KO punch followed by his Paulverizer. Paul’s heel work is dialed in, and the crowd’s hate fuels the hype for their WrestleMania clash. Even if the people genuinely hate the man, he is very good at being hateable, so… kudos?
Bron Breakker Attacked by Judgment Day, Then Returns for Payback
Breakker was ambushed backstage by Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and Carlito, selling a shoulder injury. But later, during Penta vs. Finn Balor, he returned with a vengeance—clotheslining Balor and spearing Judgment Day members left and right, including a double spear through both Dom and Carlito—before Penta joined the chaos and leaped from the top rope onto everyone outside the ring. The match was ruled a no-contest, but Breakker’s fire is still lit.
The Main Event Angle: Reigns, Rollins, Punk, and Heyman Explode
The final 15 minutes of Raw delivered in every way. Paul Heyman, parked outside for most of the night, was confronted by CM Punk before Roman Reigns arrived. Punk smiled, Heyman stammered, and Reigns looked disgusted. Inside the ring, Reigns made the crowd acknowledge him—but then turned on Heyman, accusing him of betrayal. Cue Seth Rollins, who dropped the bombshell: Heyman didn’t just return a favour, he chose Punk.
Reigns decked Rollins, Punk ran in, Reigns speared him, but then Rollins hit a chair shot to the back—Shield-style—and followed with stomps to both men. Rollins stood tall to end the show, chair in hand, staring down a cowering Heyman.
Final Thoughts
This was a killer go-home episode. Every top storyline hit the gas, and most importantly, at 2 hours and 25 mins, the show didn’t overstay its welcome. Rollins walking out as the last man standing over both CM Punk and Roman Reigns was the kind of visual that sells a WrestleMania main event, while Gunther looks like a man on the brink, and Logan Paul continues to be a perfect troll. Bring on Saturday night.
