Hulu’s ‘King of the Hill’ Revival Trailer Offers First Look at Season 14

Jul 11, 2025

Hulu has released a trailer for its upcoming King of the Hill revival series, giving fans their best look yet at the long-awaited Season 14. The sneak peek proves that a lot has changed in the last 15 years, but Hank Hill is still stuck in the past as he struggles to embrace the convenience of modern living and pretty much everything else that has altered around him. The recent retiree returns to Arlen, Texas, where he is forced to navigate Zoom calls, gender-neutral bathrooms, ride-hailing services, veganism, fake sports, and worst of all… fruity beer. Hank would like to think it’s his world and everyone else is just living in it, but unfortunately for him, those living in it have moved with the times while he is still stuck in his ways. Even his now-adult son Bobby, who has made a career for himself as an accomplished chef working at a fusion restaurant in Dallas, tries to tell him: “Nowadays, beer is fruitier, bolder, more assertive,” but Hank has none of it, as he instantly rebuffs the concept, saying, “I’ve been drinking beer for 40 years, and I never wished once that it tasted more like fruit.”

‘King of the Hill’ Is Finally Coming Back to Our Screens, Dang It

17 years later, Mike Judge’s cult-classic sitcom is finally returning to the small screen with a new season on Hulu.

The King of the Hill revival picks up 15 years after the original series, with creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels returning alongside showrunner Saladin Patterson to usher in a new era of Arlen antics. According to the official logline for the series (below), the 10-episode season will follow Hank and Peggy’s retirement years as they return home after a stint overseas and reunite with old friends, Bill Dauterive, Dale Gribble, and Boomhauer. However, things are not quite the same as when they left and even their “baby” has flown the nest.
“After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.”

Ronny Chieng Is the Latest Addition to ‘King of the Hill’s Voice Cast

Comedian and Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng has joined the cast of King of the Hill to voice fan-favorite character Kahn Souphanousinphone, Hank’s self-important Laotian neighbor. He takes over the role from Tony Huss, who has been recast as Hank’s conspiracy-loving buddy Dale Gribble. He started voicing the character midway through the season, as original voice actor Johnny Hardwicke passed away while in the midst of production on the beloved animated sitcom, but had recorded some lines for the new episodes. Judge returns to voice both the Hill family patriarch Hank and his fast-talking pal Boomhauer, while Kathy Najimy reprises her role as Peggy Hill alongside Pamela Adlon as Bobby, Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive, Lauren Tom as Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone, and Ashley Gardner as Nancy Gribble. Jonathan Joss was also slated to return to the series as John Redcorn, but he was tragically murdered in June. He had recorded lines for four episodes before his death, so his character will be part of the upcoming revival series.

Season 14 of King of the Hill will debut on Hulu on Aug. 4, 2025.
