As viewers flock to the second season of Landman, it’s already been confirmed that the Billy Bob Thornton-led series has been renewed on Paramount+. With more explosive tension and drama than ever before, most critics have already praised the latest installment, while others are lamenting the fact that it is doubling down on the show’s more limiting factors. No matter the case, business is booming for Paramount, which is looking to bank on its most popular franchises. Paramount+ has announced that Landman has been renewed for Season 3 by the streaming service. The news comes after the Season 2 premiere garnered 9.2 million views on the platform, a record that clearly made the streamer keen on tripling down on the Sheridan series. With only three episodes out of the second season, Paramount+ is making sure viewers will be treated to more oil drama for at least another year. Since his neo-western hit Yellowstone took over television between 2018 and 2024, it seems Sheridan has found his next staple series that will define another era for adult-focused dramas. Hailing from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore. As ‘Landman’ Sings, Another Taylor Sheridan Series Faces Production Hurdles

While Landman lands another season from Paramount+, another popular Taylor Sheridan series faces hurdles filming its latest batch of episodes. Per Variety, Tulsa King Season 4 began filming without a showrunner attached to lead the series. This comes after it was revealed that over 20 crew members were abruptly fired from the production. Now, 101 Studios executive Scott Stone is essentially functioning as the showrunner, working alongside unit production managers Rebecca Rivo and Christian Agypt. As Variety notes, some members of the team believe that leadership is severely lacking due to the aforementioned changes. Stunt coordinator Freddie Poole, who was fired before filming began, told the outlet that he was hesitant about Tulsa King Season 4 as soon as Stone revealed to the crew that the show would have no showrunner anymore.
“[Stone] said, ‘We’re not going to have a showrunner. 101 is the showrunner.’ And I raised an eyebrow at that. That was the writing on the wall for me. I knew at that point I better start looking out for myself.”
It’s unclear if the creative hurdles behind Tulsa King will delay the release of Season 4 or affect the show’s quality. But one thing is certain: the Sylvester Stallone-led series is one of Sheridan’s most popular right now, and fans would immediately notice a dip in quality if it occurs.
