While there have been a lot of great TV thrillers over the last few years, perhaps none have been more unique than a USA Network series that broke new ground in the techno-thriller area. Lasting four seasons between 2015 and 2019, the show was introduced to a fresh crop of viewers earlier this year when it was added to Netflix, but now, it’s set to leave the streaming service next month, making this holiday season the perfect time to binge-watch Mr. Robot before it’s gone. Released on June 24, 2015, Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a senior cybersecurity engineer at Allsafe Cybersecurity and a vigilante hacker. Ushering in a new wave of thrillers on TV, Mr. Robot broke new ground in the way issues such as mental health, addiction, and trauma were portrayed on television. Not only that, but it’s widely considered one of the most accurate shows ever about cybersecurity, featuring real-life tools used by hackers to cause all sorts of chaos. Also starring the likes of Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallström, Michael Cristofer, Stephanie Corneliussen, Grace Gummer, and BD Wong, Mr. Robot was not only lauded for its authenticity, but for its complex storytelling and unique visual style. While it certainly leans heavily into mental health themes, there’s also things like corporate greed, surveillance, and freedom front and center, all which aided Mr. Robot in winning several awards during the course of its run, including two Golden Globes and three Primetime Emmy trophies. ‘Mr. Robot’ Did What Few TV Shows Have Been Able to Do

While it seems commonplace these days for critics to sour on a television show the longer it goes, such was not the case with Mr. Robot. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds an overall rating of 94%, and each season is considered a Certified Fresh masterpiece. Not many TV shows can say they’ve managed to achieve that, which further highlights just how good Mr. Robot really is. As critic Shane Ryan from Paste Magazine put it:
“Mr. Robot is the rare show that treats its audience with intelligence and respect, and even when we get a long-awaited answer, the writers never pretend that the solution is everything.”
You can catch all four seasons of Mr. Robot now on Netflix, but you better hurry up and binge them if you’ve never seen this phenomenal show. They’re all set to leave the streaming service on January 3, 2026.
