Channing Tatum’s 52% Rotten Tomatoes Action Movie With Jamie Foxx Is Streaming For Free

Jun 10, 2025

While Channing Tatum is best loved for the Magic Mike franchise, Step Up, and his comedy roles (hi, Jeff), he also has a slew of action roles. Among them is his collaboration with Roland Emmerich, White House Down, which sees him as a US Capitol Police officer, who is in a life and death situation. The exciting feature is now available to stream for free. Tubi has added the movie starring Tatum to its roster this month. The movie follows Tatum as a divorced police officer, who has been denied his dream job of protecting the US President as a member of the Secret Service. Not wanting to disappoint his daughter, Cale takes her on a tour of the White House. While the two are there, a heavily armed paramilitary group attacks and seizes control. Now it’s up to Cale to save his daughter and the president. Despite a thrilling premise and compelling action, White House Down got mixed reviews from fans and critics. It earned a modest $205.4 million worldwide and has a 52 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating that is in clear contrast with fans’ rating sitting as high as 62 percent. While the cliché story was criticized the action sequences and performances were universally loved by all. Interestingly, three months after White House Down, Gerard Butler’s Olympus Has Fallen arrived with a similar plot and action-heavy sequences and blew fans’ minds. The Antoine Fuqua-directed film was also criticized for its story and overt violence, but was well received. Since then, it has turned into Has Fallen franchise, spawning more movies and TV shows. Along with Tatum as John Cale White House Down also cast Jamie Foxx as James Sawyer, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Carol, Jason Clarke as Emil, Richard Jenkins as Eli Raphelson, Joey King as Emily, James Woods as Martin Walker, Nicolas Wright as Donnie Donaldson, Jimmi Simpson as Skip Tyler, and many more.
What’s Next For Channing Tatum?

Tatum has come a long way since White House Down. He was most recently seen as Gambit in Deadpool and Wolverine, a character he was interested in playing since always. He’ll reprise his role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. He’ll also be seen in Derek Cianfrance’s Roofman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt-directed Wingmen where he stars opposite the actor-director, and many more. White House Down is streaming on Tubi.
