Comic-Con Images Reveal Star Wars, Marvel and DC Costumes, Props & More
Sep 25, 2023
San Diego Comic Con 2023 is now underway, and we have several images from the event. Displaying all manner of costumes, props, and more from the likes of such major franchises as Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the world of DC, SDCC once again looks like a comic fan’s dream come real and offers a closer look at the work and level of detail that goes into bringing some of our favorite movies to life. Check out a few of the images from SDCC below.
The event shows off several of the costumes, characters, and creatures from the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series, Ahsoka, which will follow Rosario Dawson as the titular Jedi Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Scheduled to premiere on August 23, 2023, on Disney+, SDCC has the look of the main character as well as several droids and critters on display.
The event also shows off several costumes from the MCU, including those of Captain Marvel and new character Adam Warlock, who was introduced as a conflicted villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Portrayed by The Maze Runner and Detroit star Will Poulter, Adam Warlock is a character that Marvel fans have been waiting some time to see on the big screen, with his costume bringing in some familiar elements from the comics in its transition to live action.
We also have a new look at the costumes set to be worn by Jason Momoa in the upcoming DC sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Much like the first movie, the new suit sticks to the orange-and-green color scheme of the source material and brings Aquaman’s armor to glorious live action life. We also get a closer look at another wonderfully realized DC costume, that of Blue Beetle, which is due to land in theaters on August 18, 2023.

SDCC Will Be a Little Different This Year
San Diego Comic-Con International
Due to the ongoing strike action being undertaken by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), who are asking for better regulations when it comes the use of artificial intelligence and fair pay with streaming residuals, SDCC will look a little different this year as actors are unable to make appearances to events such as this.
However, the event will still have a lot to show off, including a presentation from Max Original Animation featuring Harley Quinn, a panel for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, an Archer season 14 panel, a screening of My Adventures with Superman, and The Creator and Haunted Mansion director presentations. Also scheduled are a Walking Dead universe panel, a Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites panel, a panel for the John Wick prequel, a Futurama panel, a Star Trek universe panel, and a panel for the second season of Invincible.
Of course, without the actors and the writers, none of this would even exist, so we must be patient and hope that they get the results they rightly deserve.
