Jimmy Kimmel Drags Elon Musk and Donald Trump in Late Night Monologue
Mar 2, 2025
It’s probably safe to say that Jimmy Kimmel is no fan of Elon Musk or Donald Trump and how the bloviating billionaires are currently running (into the ground) the government of the United States. And in a blistering takedown of the head of DOGE in his opening monologue on Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! (one of many this season), the host went so far as to compare the man who bought Tesla and X (the artist formerly known as Twitter) to video-game character Pac-Man. You know, the mindless gobbler of fruit, hellbent on hoarding it all for his own personal gain? He also brought up Trump’s association with Jeffrey Epstein, too.
It was a lengthy and in-depth dismissal of everything Musk and Trump have done in the last week, highlighting the petulant absurdity and hypocritical corruption at the heart of what is happening in Washington, D.C. right now. “So much has happened, so many great things,” the host quipped sarcastically. “Inflation is up, unemployment is up, eggs cost more than iPhones, the measles is back, planes are running into each other. I’m getting dizzy just thinking about how great America is again.”

“We have a very, very crazy person running our country right now.”
You can watch the whole video — or even just read the most brutal quotes from it — in the section below.
Jimmy Kimmel Calls Out Elon Musk’s “Shady” and “Nuts” Government Manhandling
“The good news is that while Elon is busy throwing the whole country into a blender, he’s making plenty of money,” Kimmel continued. “According to the Washington Post, the FAA had a 2.4-billion-dollar contract with Verizon to upgrade their communications. Now, they’re gonna cancel that contract, and award it to a company called Starlink, which is owned by guess who?”
The host then went on to highlight the very obvious corruption at the heart of everything that Musk and Trump are currently doing: further lining their own pockets at the expense of the American people and the government. Or, as Kimmel put it:
“All in, companies owned by Elon Musk have been the recipient of more than 30 billion dollars from our government. That’s billion with a B. And nuts, with an N. Putting Elon Musk in charge of government contracts is like putting Pac-Man in charge of fruit. It’s a bad idea.”
Kimmel then went on to roast Trump for his attempts to blackmail Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the smoke-and-mirror show he’s pulling with regard to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Trump gave a series of binders — with already publicly available information about the Epstein case — to “news influencers.” Did everyone forget that Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump were very good friends? And that there’s lots and lots of media out there that confirms this?
“The fact that these Looney Tunes keep conveniently forgetting that Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were good friends is unbelievable,” Kimmel stated. “New York Magazine did a profile of Jeffrey Epstein back in 2002. This is the quote from Donald Trump: ‘I’ve known Jeff for 15 years; terrific guy, he’s a lot of fun to be with. It’s even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it, Jeffrey enjoys his social life.'”
Needless to say, it’s refreshing to see someone with a large platform out there speaking truth to power.
