Netflix’s ‘FUBAR’ Season 2 Debuts To Improved Rotten Tomatoes Score for Arnold Schwarzenegger Series
Jun 15, 2025
Netflix’s hit action comedy series FUBAR, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, has finally returned with Season 2. While the first season failed to impress critics, it seems FUBAR has moved up the action series ladder with a much-improved installment that defies expectations. As of this writing, FUBAR Season 2 has a 67% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six reviews. This is a notable improvement from the first season, which currently has a rotten 58% rating based on 64 reviews. Of course, the number for FUBAR Season 2 will likely fluctuate over the next week as more people view the series, which begins streaming on Netflix starting Jun. 12. However, it is a good sign of things to come for the return of the action series. FUBAR follows a father-daughter CIA operative duo played by Schwarzenegger and Academy Award-nominee Monica Barbaro.

While not every critic is in love with FUBAR Season 2, most agree that it is a solid step-up from the first season. Collider says that, after a middling first season, “FUBAR has proven itself a series worth tuning in for with Season 2, but it’s still one in deep need of streamlining.” iNews noted how Schwarzenegger was able to bring his A-game while sharing the fun with his extensive list of co-stars: “The biggest surprise with this fun, if silly, caper is how amenable Schwarzenegger is to sharing the limelight.” Meanwhile, But Why Tho? praised Season 2 for accentuating what worked in the first season:
“FUBAR Season 2 captures exactly what made the previous season so exciting. Better yet, it understands why it worked before to make a second season that absolutely thrills”

“He said he’d be back — and he’s brought his dysfunctional team of intelligence operatives with him. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to FUBAR Season 2 as Luke Brunner, a CIA operative who was on the verge of retirement until he was brought back to work on an explosive case — only to learn that his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is also in the CIA. At the end of Season 1, Luke and his family — his literal family and his work family — had their covers blown, and at the start of the new season, they’ve had to bunker together in hiding.
“When Luke and the team bust out of the safe house, we’re off on another globe-trotting mission that brings us to new enemies, more action, and more hilarious moments.”
