Peacock’s Action-Packed TV Series With Anthony Mackie Returns In July

What’s next for Anthony Mackie after headlining “Captain America: Brave New World” in February? How about the latest season of “Twisted Metal,” which now has an official premiere date via Peacock: July 31.

Mackie stars in the post-apocalyptic action comedy based on the hit video game series as John Doe, a milkman thrust into a dangerous demolition tournament against all sorts of sinister freaks. Stephanie Beatriz joins the cast this season as a series regular.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Twisted Metal” Season 2, courtesy of Peacock:
Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.
“Twisted Metal” S2 stars Mackie and Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Anthony Carrigan. Guest stars this season include Mike Mitchell, Saylor Bell Curda, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, Richard De Klerk, Michael James Shaw, and Lisa Gilroy.
Michael John Smith continues as showrunner and writer on “Twisted Metal.” Directors this season include Phil Sgriccia, Bill Benz, Iain MacDonald, and Bertie Ellwood. Executive producers include Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Mackie, Arnett and Marc Forman via Electric Avenue, Jason Spire via Inspire Entertainment, Grant Dekernion, Peter Prinicipato (Artists First), Adad Qizilbash and Carter Swan via PlayStation Productions and Hermen Hulst.
