‘The Sopranos’ Creator Talks About The Beloved Series

We may not be getting a reboot or a sequel to “The Sopranos” anytime soon. And depending on who you are, that is either good or bad. Regardless, we are getting a new documentary, ‘Wise Guy,’ that dives into the creation of one of the best TV series of all time.

As seen in the trailer, “Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos” tells the story of the creation of “The Sopranos” through the eyes of the one person who knows it better than anyone else—David Chase. He talks about how the earliest nugget of an idea was originally about him and his mom, but morphed into a story about money, power, and death.
The film is directed by Alex Gibney, a person who is no stranger to HBO documentaries. He’s worked on films such as “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley” and “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief,” among many more.
“Wise Guy: David Chase and The Sopranos” debuts on HBO on September 7. You can watch the trailer below.
