Sophie Turner & Lucy Boynton Are Testing For The Role Of Lara Croft In Prime Video’s Series

Even though it is likely still pretty far off in the future, it appears the casting search for the lead role in Prime Video’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” series is in full swing. And we now know some of the names who have made it to the final stages of the process.
According to Deadline, Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton are both testing for the part of Lara Croft in the forthcoming “Tomb Raider” series from creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It’s unclear if they’re the only two testing or if there are others competing for the role as well, but these are two of the best young British actors working today.

Turner is best known for her role in “Game of Thrones.” Since then, she’s appeared in a number of other projects including the role of Jean Grey in the most recent ‘X-Men’ films. Boynton, on the other hand, hasn’t had as many tentpole roles, but she is probably best known for her performance in “Bohemian Rhapsody.” In addition to that, we’ve seen her in “Sing Street,” “The Politician,” and “Modern Love.”“Tomb Raider” is part of the Prime Video wave of high-profile adaptations in recent years. The series is based on the video game franchise of the same name. The video games all follow Lara Croft, a young British adventurer who is always on the hunt for priceless items. Basically, she’s a younger, female version of Indiana Jones. Previous adaptations were led by actors such as Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.

Again, it looks like we’re still pretty far off from seeing ‘Tomb Raider” grace our screens. But soon we should know who is going to lead the cast.
