Jack Black’s Satan Is One Kid’s New Santa In The Farrelly Brothers’ Upcoming Christmas Comedy

Nov 7, 2024

Not feeling “Red One” after its first trailer and early review? Well, there’s always “Dear Santa,” The Farrelly Brothers‘ upcoming Christmas comedy that premieres on Paramount+ later this month. Less raunchy and more kid-friendly than their usual fare, this could be one to watch with the family after Thanksgiving dinner (if one has the stomach for it).

What’s more, “Dear Santa” is a Jack Black affair, too. Black stars as Satan (no, not Santa) in a set-up that sounds super-dumb and kind of cute: a young boy misspells the address on his letter to Santa and winds up contacting the Dark Lord instead. Soon enough, Black’s Devil appears to figure out how he might corrupt his new protege and ruin Christmas in the process.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Dear Santa,” courtesy of Paramount:
When a young boy mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, a devilish Jack Black arrives to wreak havoc on the holidays. From the hilarious minds behind Dumb & Dumber, Christmas is about to go up in flames.Along with Black, “Dear Santa” also stars Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, and Post Malone.  P.J. Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech round out the main cast.
Bobby Farrelly directs a script from Ricky Blitt & Peter Farrelly for Bad Santa, with a story by Blitt, Farrelly, and Dan Ewen.
The Farrelly Brothers lead producers on “Dear Santa” with Jeremy Kramer. Executive producers on the film include Kevin Barnett, Pete Jones, and Gretel Twombly.
“Dear Santa” hits Paramount+ on November 25. Watch the trailer for the Xmas comedy below.
