According to THR, Javier Bardem is set to star in “Cape Fear,” the series remake of the classic 1962 and 1991 film versions. For those who haven’t seen the films, “Cape Fear” is based on the novel, “The Executioners,” and tells the story of a lawyer who finds himself terrorized by notorious killer, Max Cady, as he gets out of prison. In the ‘62 version, Robert Mitchum played the Cady role. And in the ‘91 film, directed by Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro is chilling as Cady.
Bardem is a veteran of highly-anticipated film work. Most recently, outside of ‘Monsters,’ you can see Bardem in projects such as “Dune” (and its sequel), “The Little Mermaid,” and “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.” He’s been nominated for four Oscars over the years, winning the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his role in “No Country for Old Men.”
