A Twisted Marital Chaos With A Blend Of Laughter And Thrill
Jun 11, 2026
Comedy Reloaded — Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (2026): Starring Ayushmann Khurrana as senior forest officer, Prajapati Pandey
Sometimes, extramarital affairs can be deceptive. Even when a man is loyal to his life partner, at times, society may misjudge him. Highlighting this concept, Bollywood has recreated an eccentric marital comedy drama yet again with a spiritual sequel to its 2019 rom-com “Pati Patni Aur Woh”. Titled “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do”, this film has been produced by Bhushan Kumar and written and directed by Mudassar Aziz. It features Ayushmann Khurrana as the male lead opposite the female trio of Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh. This Hindi rom-com runs for 2 hours and made its theatrical debut on May 15, 2026.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (2026): Introducing Ayushmann Khurrana With Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh In a Romantic Ordeal Filled With Chaotic and Hilarious Twists!
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (2026) Synopsis: Extramarital? Not Really!
Prajapati Pandey (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a clever and daring senior forest officer who has succeeded in several missions of capturing escaped and rampaging wild animals. His wife, Aparna Trivedi (Wamiqa Gabbi), is a renowned journalist. All was going well until one day, Prajapati’s college friend, Chanchal Kumari (Sara Ali Khan), sought his help to unite her with her lover.
In the pursuit of uniting Chanchal with her lover, Prajapati gets entangled in a rigid trap of suspicion, life threat, and chaos. Will he ever be able to come out of this ordeal and win back the trust of his beloved wife? Wait and watch!

The Good:
Featuring Wamiqa Gabbi as Prajapati’s wife, Aparna Trivedi
This spiritual sequel takes off in a jolly mood with character introductions where Ayushmann’s character is shown to be brave, confident, and chivalrous. However, the amusement begins when his chivalry and helpfulness land him in trouble as a “damsel in distress” approaches him for help. The story that builds up afterwards is direly hilarious and intriguing. Multiple unpredictable twists initiate thrill. You would probably not want to miss out on a single instance and remain glued till the end of this chaotic situational comedy drama.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s comical body language and dialogue delivery, coupled with his vivid expressions of mindfulness as well as helplessness during tense situations, gave his performance a stellar shot. Ayushmann poses as a popular and daredevil forest officer who is well-known for his ability to capture astray wild animals. Also, the contributions of his three co-actresses, Wamiqa Gabbi (as his wife), Rakul Preet Singh (as his colleague and friend), and Sara Ali Khan (as the damsel in distress) are impressive. Even though the script was fully melodramatic in the name of comedy, you would literally enjoy every moment filled with bizarre incidents, droll humor, and thrills.

Several dialogues in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do are impactful and spark laughter. The cinematography and sets are natural, colorful, and lively. The VFX of the leopard and wolf was downright realistic. Some of the musical tracks were remixed, groovy, and enjoyable. Mudassar Aziz’s directorial style is indeed praiseworthy, as he keeps his comedic narrative alive with excitement till the end. The editing was sharp and precise, keeping the film’s runtime exactly 2 hours.
The “Pati Patni Aur Woh” Franchise: Bollywood’s Twisted Rom-Com Journey From 1978 to 2026!
The Bad:
Presenting Sara Ali Khan as Prajapati’s college friend, Chanchal Kumari
I won’t say the script of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do was perfect. In fact, if you look at it precisely, the screenplay was scattered, and there was melodrama everywhere that made the comical situations appear somewhat forced and unrealistic.
Despite Ayushmann’s enduring performance, I personally felt that his character, when around women, was too meek and acted unusually for a senior forest officer. At times, he even made me forget that he was actually playing a forest officer and instead appeared like a funny, distressed guy who was messed up with three women in his life.
Moreover, the climax could have been better. I mean, the narrative was very well drawn till the climax. However, the ending appeared out of the way. In fact, it was completely bonkers with humongous melodrama!

The Verdict: A Clean, Breezy, and Hilarious Entertainer!
Despite certain flaws, this farcical marital rom-com absolutely nails it with its comedy of terrors, rather than errors. This maddening commercial entertainer would appeal to the audience with its interesting and inquisitive plot. Trust me, you wouldn’t mind visiting the theatres to watch Pati Patni Aur Woh Do for a weekend’s relaxation.
