Superman Movie International Trailer Shows Even More Of The DC Universe Movie & Teases Clark Kent’s Secret Identity Becoming Public

Jun 9, 2025

The Man of Steel’s secret identity is the topic of a new trailer for James Gunn’s Superman movie. The new DC Universe’s first film sees the debut of David Corenswet’s Superman. The film is confirmed to dedicate the same kind of focus to both sides of the character, meaning the Man of Steel, aka Superman, and Clark Kent sides of Corenswet’s DC icon. After a few trailers teased the story of the Superman movie, showcasing the Clark and Kal-El personas, new footage from the anticipated movie cautions the hero about his two sides merging in the public eye. On Weibo, DC (Via Cascadean/YouTube) shared a new Superman international trailer that spotlights the hero’s secret.

Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane tells Corenswet’s Superman, “Eventually, people are gonna find out that you’re Superman.” Clark stops her with a quick joke about his glasses, as the hero’s classic disguise has kept Superman’s secret for a long time. The new Superman movie footage also features more of the character in action, with the CGI and fight scenes from the upcoming DCU movie looking as thrilling as they have to be for the Man of Steel.
What The New Superman International Trailer Means

The DCU Teases A Major Future Story

Lois Lane and Clark Kent’s relationship has been given the importance it needs in the latest Superman movie trailers. The DCU version of the intrepid reporter is well aware that Corenswet’s Clark is Superman, and the new international trailer for the upcoming film once again touches on that. While Lois knows the hero’s secret, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor and the rest of the world do not. However, James Gunn’s Superman movie is already playing with the notion that Superman’s secret identity could be revealed to the public in the future.

I’m Convinced There Are Only 4 Characters In The Superman Trailer That Could Seriously Hurt The Man Of Steel

Superman’s trailers have shown David Corenswet’s Man of Steel get injured a lot, and I’m convinced there are 4 threats that could kill the DCU hero.

That has happened before, both in the comics and live-action, with Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel going through that life-changing event recently in the final season of Superman & Lois. While it does not seem like Corenswet’s Superman will see his two lives merge in the DCU’s first movie, Lois’ words sound like a tease that the franchise could go that way with the character’s story in the coming years. With Lex Luthor calling Superman an “It” and mocking his “cocky grin” in the new Superman movie international trailer, the villain would surely love to expose his secret identity.
Our Take On The New Superman International Trailer

The new Superman movie international trailer is exciting. With most of the MCU’s heroes having their secret identities out to the public, it is interesting to see James Gunn’s DCU go the other way for its biggest hero. Clark Kent does not want the world to know he is Superman, and DC is teasing that the secret could eventually get out, which would completely change his story in the franchise. Based on Gunn’s past films, I believe that is something the DCU plans to explore, just not in Superman, despite its new trailer teasing the plot twist.
