Haunted Hotel, created by Rick & Morty’s Matt Roller, features the voices of Will Forte (Coyote vs. Acme), Eliza Coupe (Best Medicine), Skyler Gisondo (Primetime), and Jimi Simpson (Dark Matter), among others. The series follows a single mother named Katherine (Coupe) who inherits a run-down hotel business in Upstate New York.

Upon moving into the establishment with her two kids (Gisondo, Natalie Palamides), Katherine becomes acquainted with a demon in the vents, her late brother’s ghost, and numerous cults, exorcists, and poltergeists. While trying to manage her dead guests and simultaneously check in living ones, Katherine must learn to coexist with her strange new roommates.

After Haunted Hotel‘s premiere in 2025, the show quickly found success on Netflix viewership charts, sitting in the platform’s Top 10 and reaching over 15 million views in just its first season alone, according to Deadline.

Now, with the news of its third season being announced just weeks after its second season debuted, the show will join an exclusive group of Netflix adult animated originals to reach three-plus seasons. It stands next to other original series like BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, Love, Death & Robots, and F is for Family. For a genre that is famously known for its cancellations on Netflix in the past, Haunted Hotel‘s renewal is big news for the adult animation category.

While on the Bulwark Goes to Hollywood podcast, Roller added that the script for Haunted Hotel season three has already been written, and the team is planning to release it as a ten-episode format.
