‘Percy Jackson’ Season 3 Unveils Action-Packed First Footage as Release Date Confirmed
Jul 24, 2026
Percy Jackson and the Olympians has proven itself to be a bonafide streaming hit, pulling in massive viewership numbers for Disney+ during its debut season, as audiences tuned in to watch the first chapter of the small screen adaptation of Rick Riordan’s beloved fantasy novels unfold. The first season kicked off the franchise by adapting The Lightning Thief, following a cross-country quest to find Zeus’ stolen master bolt. The momentum continued with Season 2, which told The Sea of Monsters story, chronicling the perilous journey into the Bermuda Triangle to retrieve the Golden Fleece to save Camp Half-Blood. After that season wrapped, Disney greenlit an early renewal for Season 3, jumping into the events of the third book, The Titan’s Curse, and now fans of the mythological epic have a better idea of the adventures that lie in store. The team behind Percy Jackson and the Olympians took San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) by storm, as demigods, monsters, and mayhem descended on Hall H on Thursday. Series stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellan), Tamara Smart (Thalia Grace), Levi Chrisopulos (Nico di Angelo), and Olive Abercrombie (Bianca di Angelo) appeared on stage with executive producers Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz to share behind-the-scenes stories, introduce new characters, and debut the first footage for the highly anticipated third season of the acclaimed series. Like the book it is based on, Season 3 features a darker tone, reflecting Percy’s growth as he starts to experience the true weight of his responsibilities as a demigod. The story picks up after a brief time jump, with Percy receiving a distress call from Grover, who has located two powerful new half-blood siblings, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, at a military academy called Westover Hall. However, the rescue mission goes terribly wrong, resulting in the monstrous kidnapping of Annabeth. Percy and his allies must embark on a treacherous winter quest in a bid to save them while also attempting to stop a dangerous new mythological threat.

Disney unveiled the opening minutes during the show’s Hall H panel, giving attendees their first look at The Titan’s Curse adaptation. According to Variety, the season opens with Thalia battling a monster in a parking garage. Percy arrives to assist, which visibly annoys Thalia, who insists she does not need his help, emphasizing the brewing tension between the characters. After the battle, Annabeth appears and reveals that she summoned Percy because they need Thalia’s help to rescue two demigods (presumably Nico and Bianca) and escort them back to Camp Half-Blood. The friction escalates when Percy admits that he does not want the daughter of Zeus coming along with them, and before they can resolve the argument, Thalia drives away. The third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians brings back the core trio alongside a plethora of new characters and cast members, introducing Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie as the pivotal di Angelo siblings, Nico and Bianca, two of the most beloved characters from the book saga. Other major additions include Dafne Keen as the Goddess Artemis, Saara Chaudry as her immortal lieutenant Zoë Nightshade, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo. Jesse L. Martin will play Annabeth’s father, Frederick Chase, while Holt McCallany brings the villainous Titan Atlas to life.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians has maintained a consistent winter rollout strategy for its releases. Season 1 officially debuted on Dec. 19, 2023, launching with a two-episode premiere before shifting to a weekly release format that wrapped on Jan. 30, 2024. Season 2 dropped its first two episodes on Dec. 10, 2025, continuing with the remainder of its eight-episode run through to Jan. 21, 2026. Disney has now officially locked in the Season 3 premiere for Nov. 20, 2026, which is a significantly shorter turnaround than the first two chapters, ensuring that the young cast do not outgrow their literary counterparts as the story unravels.
