‘Scrubs’ Reboot Trailer Returns to Sacred Heart
Feb 13, 2026
ABC and Hulu have released the first full trailer for the long-awaited revival of Scrubs. Airing for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010, Scrubs was a medical-comedy series created by Ted Lasso creator Bill Lawrence that followed a group of medical interns at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital. The series starred Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley. Sixteen years after the final episode aired, Scrubs is coming back to television. Hulu has now released the first official trailer for the Scrubs revival, which is being treated as the official Season 10. Braff, Faison, and Chalke return as series regulars as J.D. Dorian, Chris Turk, and Elliot Reed, respectively. McGinley and Reyes will be recurring guest stars. The series will return in a two-episode premiere on ABC on Feb. 25, 2026, and will air the next day on Hulu. The season is scheduled to be nine episodes. Watch the trailer below and check out the newly revealed synopsis below:
JD and Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time: Medicine has changed; interns have changed; but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.
‘Scrubs’ Long-Awaited Return to Television
Scrubs originally ran for seven seasons on NBC. Starting with Season 8, the series moved to ABC, where the Season 8 finale was originally written as the series finale. However, ABC picked up the series for one more season. Season 9 was controversial among fans, as it shifted the focus to a new batch of interns, with much of the original cast leaving the series or taking smaller recurring roles, and it was set in a new location. Season 9 ultimately proved to be the last for the original era of Scrubs, concluding on Mar. 17, 2010. Talk of a Scrubs revival began circulating in 2022, with official confirmation in December 2024. ABC approved a full nine-episode season order in July 2025, with filming taking place between October and December of that year. Scrubs is one of two high-profile revivals of a popular 2000s series coming to Hulu, as Malcom in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will debut on the streaming service for a four-episode miniseries on Apr. 10, 2026.
The track record for these nostalgic television revivals is rather strong. Will & Grace returned for three additional seasons from 2017 to 2020. The Conners, which was a spin-off of the one-season Roseanne revival, ran for an additional seven seasons on ABC. It isn’t difficult to imagine Scrubs becoming a new staple of ABC’s television line-up, bringing the same laughs and heart to audiences as it did in the 2000s.
