‘Seinfeld’ Reunion Officially Confirmed in New HBO Series Trailer for
Jun 15, 2026
Seinfeld was an absolute masterpiece. Anyone who was alive in the ’90s will remember that the show sparked constant humorous conversation. Watching it today makes one yearn for a better time, when monoculture reigned and a single great show could carry so much lighthearted weight. References to the Soup Nazi, the Puffy Shirt, and a show about nothing were omnipresent. Thankfully, in the years since that controversial Seinfeld finale, series co-creator Larry David has provided decades worth of ‘Larry David moments’ that are as cringeworthy as they are delectable in Curb Your Enthusiasm. The show even offered a humorous re-do of that infamous Seinfeld finale. Now, a new series from Seinfeld co-creators Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld will give us something else to laugh about. Specifically, it skewers the current assault on level-headed historicism. In a new trailer shared by HBO Max, an impressive cast is set to skewer historical events for the 250th anniversary of this crazy country called the United States of America. Everything from the Wright Brothers to the Continental Congress to Victory in Europe Day appear in the trailer. “This is a declaration of common sense!” yells Larry David at the Continental Congress.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America is a limited sketch comedy series that will air on HBO Max. In an era where history is under assault, with the most complex and essential parts of it banned from being taught in parts of our country, what better than to poke a little fun at key moments from the past? The series logline gleefully states, “hose who don’t know history… are doomed to watch Larry David repeat it.” We can fully expect the show to undermine serious moments with crude humor. We may even get some viral outrage. After all, who doesn’t remember the evangelical outrage over the ‘pee splash’ sold as a ‘Jesus tear’ in Curb Your Enthusiasm?
HBO Max
The series will pair Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes as the Wright brothers. We should be eager to see Bill Hader and Kathryn Hahn as Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln. SNL’s Chris Parnell delights as Benjamin Franklin, while Curb Your Enthusiasm star Susie Essmann will certainly give us the comedic goods as Susan B. Anthony. The stellar cast is rounded out by Isla Fisher, Vince Vaughn, Rita Wilson, Greg Kinnear, and Alan Tudyk. Lin-Manuel Miranda will likely show up as Hamilton in an episode titled “The Duel,” referencing the duel in which Hamilton died. Curb Your Enthusiasm regulars Jeff Garlin and J.B. Smoove also star. Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America was created by Larry David and Jeff Schaffer, who directed all seven episodes. The series is executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, along with Ethan Lewis and Vinnie Malhotra.
The first episode premieres Jun. 26 on HBO Max.
