Underrated Action Thriller Series ‘Tracker’ Rivals ‘Reacher’ With Streaming Success
Apr 13, 2026
While Reacher continues to dominate the action thriller series landscape, another similar nomadic avenger has found huge success on streaming thanks to its latest season. Alan Ritchson’s behemoth action hero is all set to return to screens later this year, but in the meantime, audiences have flocked to join another man with a particular set of skills as he solves crimes and uncovers dark secrets. CBS’ answer to Prime Video’s monster hit action series Reacher is titled Tracker, and stars This is Us and Smallville star Justin Hartley as a lone-wolf warrior much like Jack Reacher, who also boasts a ludicrously powerful name in Colter Shaw. Based on the 2019 novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver, the series has been likened to Lee Child’s mega-hit series of novels since it was first announced, with Tracker proving to have the same staying power as Mr. Reacher, if not quite the same high profile.
‘Tracker’ Has Been in the Top 10 for More Than 100 Days

Tracker stars Justin Hartley in the lead role as Colter Shaw, a trusted lone-wolf survivalist who, driven by the troubles of his past, uses his instincts to find the missing and collect rewards. Supported by lawyer Reenie Green, his business handler Velma Bruin, and tech expert Bobby Exley, Colter will stop at nothing to get the job done. Which sounds an awful lot like a certain former U.S. Army military police major-turned-drifter we know and love. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene, Prestyn Bates, Abby McEnany, Peter Stormare, Melissa Roxburgh, Jennifer Morrison, and Jensen Ackles, Tracker is now deep into its far darker third season, which finds Colter Shaw fighting to bring down a sinister blackmail network known as “The Process” while dealing with family secrets that have come spilling out. Premiering back in October, with the finale due to land on May 24, Tracker has now been in the Paramount+ top 10 for more than 100 days, making it another big action streaming success that could (almost) rival Reacher himself.
‘Tracker’ Is an Action Thriller Network TV Treat
CBS
While not quite reaching the same critical heights as Reacher, Tracker has been met with seriously solid reviews from critics. Season 1 now holds a rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and while Season 3 hasn’t yet yielded enough reviews for an overall score, the reactions that have emerged praised a “strong” premiere that promises “a real network TV-sized treat,” and hailing it as “one of the best shows airing right now.” With all this in mind, it should come as little surprise to learn that Tracker has already been renewed for a fourth season.
And a fourth season is also where we’ll next see Jack Reacher, which will adapt Lee Child’s 13th book, “Gone Tomorrow,” and center on Reacher as he stumbles on a conspiracy while traveling through New York City. Not only that, the Reacher franchise is set to expand beyond the main series, with Maria Sten returning as Frances Neagley and leading her own set of adventures on Prime Video.
