“Welcome To The Jungle” For A Comical, Chaotic, and Maddening Adventure Ride!
Jul 29, 2026
When a flop filming mission turns deadly, that’s when you are “Welcome to the Jungle”! Bollywood takes a bold yet risky move by coming out with a nonsensical comedy spiritual sequel to its “Welcome” franchise with a multifarious star cast. Released in theaters on June 26, 2026, this Hindi action-adventure comedy drama was written by the late Neeraj Vora, co-produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, and directed by Ahmed Khan, with Akshay Kumar as the main protagonist and Jackie Shroff as the lead antagonist.
Akshay Kumar Welcomes You To The Jungle With Nostalgia: The Dance Track “Ucha Lamba Kad” Remastered With Disha Patani!
Welcome To The Jungle (2026) Synopsis: A Filming Project Turns Deadly With Comedy, Action, and Chaos!
Akshay Kumar Welcomes you to the Jungle with a dual role: As flop actor Rajiv Kohli (Left) and Rajiv’s army officer father, Vishwajit Kohli (Right)
A group of flop actors, directors, and also some dreaded gangsters are appointed by a tax-evading multi-billionaire to shoot a flop action-adventure film in a jungle by posing as military personnel of the Indian Army. But the filming turns real when they are confronted and attacked by real terrorists in a village adjacent to the jungle.
The terrorists initially think the actors are real Indian Army soldiers. Now, it’s up to these fake soldiers to show their heroism and save the village from the wrath of real villains. Watch out as the jungle adventure and war with the terrorists unfold into some unexpected fun and death-defying action!
Check Out The Official Trailer Of The Madcap, No-Holds-Barred Comedy “Welcome To The Jungle (2026)”:
The Good:
Presenting Jackie Shroff as the lead villain, terrorist Zatara
This is the third instalment of the “Welcome” comedy franchise. The entire screenplay of Welcome to the Jungle is based on situational and slapstick humor. The script appeared abruptly written, which direly lacks a cinematic flow. Scenes seem to progress randomly with no relevance to one another. Even with this setback, the comedy factor in this nonsensical adventure drama is so intense that each and every instance will make you burst out with laughter!
The fact is, this film has been made with the intention of amusing the audiences only with a star-studded ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Jackie Shroff. Don’t try to take it too seriously or logically, but consider it just as a light entertainment with gut-busting humor.
Introducing Suniel Shetty (Right) as gangster Yeda Anna and Arshad Warsi (Left) as his ally, gangster Romeo
But I must tell you that the proceedings of the narrative become serious and tense, where a group of flop actors and directors get surrounded in a remote village in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) by a gang of terrorists. The play has been written so cleverly that serious instances, like people getting shot and dying, will make you laugh! During emotional tear-dropping scenes, you would be laughing as the narrative is filled with sudden, cocky jokes that would immediately transition your pitiful emotional sentiments into laughter. You need to watch it to experience it.
When It’s Time For Adventure And Chaos, Then You Are “Welcome to the Jungle”!
Jacqueline Fernandez as Jenny with Zakir Hussain as her business magnate father, Sinha
The high-level of situational comedy induced in this jungle adventure drama makes it gripping. You probably won’t be able to leave your seats till the very end. A surprising twist happens during the climax, which can amaze you.
Akshay Kumar amuses and entertains with his cocky humor, absurd expressions, and eccentric body language. The comedy picks up as soon as he makes his entry with the Bhojpuri dance track “Ghis Ghis Ghis”. His character’s transition from spinelessness to bravery was indeed surprising. Supporting him are an ensemble cast of Bollywood legends like Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav. Jackie Shroff’s villainous character is humorous as well as terrifying. You would literally become confused whether to feel intimidated or laugh after seeing him.
From Front: Disha Patani as Rajiv’s ex-girlfriend Nadia with Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar as Rajiv, and Jacqueline Fernandez
The cinematography comprised captivating and realistic 10-acre jungle and village sets with added high-quality VFX and CGI to create certain digital elements and enhance its funny yet violent action sequences. The film also features the iconic remastered “Ucha Lamba Kad” dance track from its 2007 prequel “Welcome”. This time it’s Disha Patani opposite Akshay rather than Katrina Kaif!
Introducing Suniel Shetty As Gangster Yeda Anna!
The Bad:
The iconic Bollywood couple from the 90s era brings back memories – Akshay Kumar with Raveena Tandon (Right)
Just because I am full of praise for Welcome to the Jungle, don’t think that I am very impressed by this movie. To be honest, if you ever try to analyse it logically, this is not a film at all! If you look at it closely, you will find it to be an insult to the filmmaking world. It would appear to you as if some mentally unstable writers and directors have collaborated to create this film.
From Left: Featuring Johnny Lever as Dubey, Rajpal Yadav as director Dev, and Paresh Rawal as his co-director Das
If you compare it to its two prequels, Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015), its storytelling falls weak and just doesn’t match up to their levels. It all looks like this film was written and shot in a hurry, with random, weird scene placements where one sequence has no relevance to the next. Even the two lead actresses, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez, have been cast just as a glam factor. Jacqueline’s character has no real significance within the screenplay, although Disha’s character of Akshay’s ex-girlfriend has some relevance, which adds a romantic essence to the film.
Made With The Intention To Amuse You! Welcome To The Jungle (2026) Official Teaser:
A still from Welcome to the Jungle
Moreover, to all Hollywood fans, the story would appear familiar and predictable, as Welcome to the Jungle is heavily inspired by the 2008 Hollywood action-comedy film “Tropic Thunder”. I would define “Welcome to the Jungle” as a parody of “Tropic Thunder”. So, those who have already watched that Hollywood movie may lose interest in this one.
The Verdict: A Sure-Shot Blockbuster Action-Comedy Owing To Its Star-Studded Hype!
Whether we enjoy it or criticize it, Welcome to the Jungle is all set to become a blockbuster action-comedy film. The responses of the audience are tremendous towards this mass-entertainer, and the theaters are booming, houseful! The film has already crossed Rs. 100 Crore worldwide collections following its release.
Rock The Jungle With The Title Track!
The reason for its startling success, despite its mindless script, is only because of its ensemble star cast. Indian audiences prefer to watch a particular film not for its story, but because of the superbly hyped actors who are being cast in it. A film like Welcome to the Jungle, no matter how illogical it may seem, comprises a horde of Bollywood legends who have made their mark in Indian cinema. No matter whatever nonsense they may perform, due to the requirements of meaningless script, the audience hails them and applauds their performances. So, once you make a mark in the Bollywood industry, you are free to make any nonsense you may want. The audience actually comes to see you, not the film. They will willingly accept anything you make.
I personally feel that casting a huge ensemble of Bollywood stars was a brilliant strategic move by the makers of Welcome to the Jungle. They are very much aware of the fact that the story doesn’t matter to Indian audiences. As per Indian audiences, “Oh, it’s an Akshay Kumar movie! And Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Jackie Shroff are there as well! Then we will definitely watch it!”
